Dr. Shu-Yi Liao Joins National Jewish Health Occupational Medicine Team

Dr. Shu-Yi Liao Joins National Jewish Health Occupational Medicine TeamShu-Yi Liao, MD, MPH, ScD, has joined the faculty at National Jewish Health in the Division of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences. He comes to National Jewish Health from University of California, Davis in Sacramento after completing his fellowship program. Dr. Liao focuses his clinical practice on diagnosis and treatment of sarcoidosis and occupational lung diseases. Dr. Liao’s primary clinic is on the National Jewish Health main campus, and he sees patients through the National Jewish Health intensive care unit (ICU) and tele-ICU programs. He speaks English, Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese.

Dr. Liao received his medical degree at National Taiwan University. He completed his residency in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at University of California, Riverside. Dr. Liao has a Doctor of Science degree in Environmental Molecular Epidemiology/Environmental and Occupational Medicine from the Harvard School of Public Health.

In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Liao is conducting research at National Jewish Health on the genetics of sarcoidosis. He has participated in a number of research projects and co-authored peer-reviewed publications.
