National Jewish Health Welcomes Vivian Lee, MD, to Gastroenterology Team
DENVER - National Jewish Health is pleased to welcome Vivian Lee, MD, to the Division of Gastroenterology.Dr. Lee joins National Jewish Health after completing her fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of North Carolina Medical Center. She previously served as a hospitalist scholar and completed a T32 Fellowship in Clinical Research and Medical Informatics at the University of Chicago Medical Center following her residency in Internal Medicine at Case Western Reserve University MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Lee earned her Doctor of Medicine from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University and holds a Master of Science in Public Health Sciences from the University of Chicago. She also earned a Master of Science with distinction in Molecular Biology and Pathology of Viruses from Imperial College London and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Chemistry.
Her clinical and research interests focus on gastrointestinal health, inflammatory bowel disease, the gut microbiome and mechanisms of intestinal inflammation. Her research has examined the role of gut microbial regulation of Paneth cell function and the impact of enteric bacteriophages on inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Lee has authored peer-reviewed publications and presented her work at national scientific meetings, including Digestive Disease Week.
Board-certified in internal medicine and licensed by the Colorado Medical Board, Dr. Lee is committed to advancing patient care through clinical excellence, research and medical education.
