Infectious Disease Physician Dr. Jared Eddy Joins National Jewish Health


DENVER, CO —

Jared EddyJared J. Eddy, MD, has joined the infectious diseases faculty at National Jewish Health in the Division of Mycobacterial and Respiratory Infections. Dr. Eddy arrived at the height of the first wave of the pandemic and immediately provided invaluable leadership to help National Jewish Health combat the COVID-19 pandemic. In his role as Director of Infection Control and Prevention, he leads hospital efforts to ensure patient and staff safety. Dr. Eddy specializes in nontuberculous mycobacteria, tuberculosis, chronic respiratory infections, multi-drug resistant organisms, and other infectious diseases. He sees patients in clinic on the National Jewish Health main campus where he also directs the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program.
   

Dr. Eddy received his medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in infectious diseases at Boston Medical Center, where he also completed a research fellowship focusing on tuberculosis.  He was a visiting fellow in nontuberculous mycobacteria at National Jewish Health in 2018. Additionally, Dr. Eddy has master’s degrees in Classics and Epidemiology and has authored numerous peer reviewed journal articles.
