National Jewish Health Receives AHA 100-Year Milestone Award

DENVER - The American Hospital Association (AHA) recognized National Jewish Health with its 100-Year Milestone Award. The award recognizes the institution’s 100 years of participation and leadership with the AHA as well commitment to advancing health in America.

National Jewish Health was founded in 1898 and officially became an institutional member of the AHA in 1919, the first year the association admitted hospitals as members. The AHA created the 100-Year Milestone Award to acknowledge health care institutions that demonstrate a long history of providing significant community impact and sustained advocacy on behalf of patients and the health care system.

Mary Naylor, Regional Executive for AHA Region Eight, presented the award to Evan Zucker, Chairman of the National Jewish Health Board of Directors, on behalf of the institution.

“The American Hospital Association is proud to recognize National Jewish Health for their 100 years of membership in the AHA and for their continued commitment to their patients locally and nationally and to the Denver community,” said Rick Pollack, AHA President and CEO.

“National Jewish Health has played a vital role in shaping health care both in Colorado and across the nation for more than a century,” said Michael Salem, president and CEO of National Jewish Health. “We have appreciated our affiliation with the AHA through the years as it aligns with our longstanding dedication to excellence, advocacy, care and service to the community.”
