A Rockin’ 50s Beaux Arts Ball Raises More Than $2 Million to Benefit National Jewish Health

DENVER - The 29th annual Beaux Arts Ball presented by Bonnie and David Mandarich raised more than $2 million in support of National Jewish Health, the leading respiratory hospital in the nation, to establish the Fund to Advance Research and Discovery in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. Nearly 900 guests attended the March 7, 2026, gala for “Grease and Glamour,” a 1950s-themed celebration inspiring hope and shared optimism for the future. Susan and Geoff Barker, Bridget and John Grier, Denise O’Leary and Kent Thiry, and Shereen and Michael Pollak were honored at the event as 2026 Humanitarian Award recipients for their outstanding philanthropic leadership and service to the community.

“We were pleased to recognize an outstanding group of people who step up often to help and to lead,” said Michael Salem, MD, President and CEO of National Jewish Health. “We are deeply appreciative of all they do for the greater community and for National Jewish Health.”

Evan Zucker, Chair of the National Jewish Heath Board of Directors, welcomed guests and thanked the many supporters for contributing to the evening’s success. In addition, he presented the Arthur B. Lorber Award for Distinguished Service, posthumously, to William Gold II. Zucker noted that the award was in recognition of Mr. Gold’s lasting contributions and his unwavering support of the many community organizations he helped to strengthen. Katherine Gold accepted the award in tribute to her father, who was a member of our Board of Directors for nearly 50 years and was a well-respected leader and philanthropist.

During the program, the members of the Lynskey family — parents Emma, John and children Jane and Billy — described how National Jewish Health provided the answers and care they needed when Billy was experiencing severe food allergies. Thanks to the expertise at National Jewish Health in pediatric allergies and immunology, today Billy is an active and carefree 7-year-old, and his family now confidently manages his condition. They are optimistic that Billy’s health is on the right track.

This was the third year Bonnie and David Mandarich have served as Presenting Sponsors, and they have supported the event and the institution in a variety of ways for many years. Bridget and John Grier and Iris and Michael Smith were Grease and Glamour Sponsors, while Denise O’Leary and Kent Thiry, Shereen and Michael Pollak, Michael Salem, MD, and Meghan and Evan Zucker were Platinum Sponsors. The 2026 Beaux Arts Ball Co-Chairs were John J. Hanley and Barry Hirschfeld.
