Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is one of more than 130 types of interstitial lung disease (ILD). It is described by scarring (fibrosis) of the lungs. The word “idiopathic” means “of unknown cause.”
