Do I Have GERD?

Most people experience heartburn, indigestion or bloating at some point. In many cases, these symptoms improve with over-the-counter medications or simple lifestyle changes. But when they happen often or don’t go away, it could be a sign of something more serious — gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

GERD is ongoing acid reflux that doesn’t improve over time. In addition to heartburn, it can cause symptoms like a chronic cough, trouble swallowing or a burning feeling in the chest.
