Infectious Disease Rotating Fellowship
The Division of Mycobacterial and Respiratory Infections hosts a visiting fellow each month. The funding is provided by Scott and Susan Fleischner Kornspan in honor of Dr. Charles Daley and the groundbreaking work that he has been doing at National Jewish Health for decades.
These fellows work closely with the faculty and staff of the division, managing patients in the Extended Outpatient Program. This is a unique experience for both Pulmonary and Infectious Diseases fellows. They will also have a one-half day clinic per week during the rotation. There is no call required, and weekends are off, so the fellows are free to enjoy Denver and the Rockies.
The primary purpose of this rotation is to give the fellows a focused opportunity to learn key principles of the evaluation and treatment of patients with bronchiectasis, nontuberculous mycobacterial diseases, and tuberculosis. Additionally, the fellows gain competencies in patient care, medical knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, practice-based learning and improvement, professionalism and systems-based practice.
