National Jewish Hires Ron Berge as New COO

Ron Berge begins as National Jewish COO January 3, 2008

 

National Jewish has hired Ron Berge as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective January 3, 2008.  Berge spent the last 20 years at The Children’s Hospital most recently as their VP of Facility Development and has over 30 years of experience in healthcare and hospital operations.

 “Ron brings a unique blend of clinical, academic and operational experience to the position,” said Michael Salem, MD, CEO and President of National Jewish.  “I am confident that he will prove an excellent addition to the team during this exciting time at National Jewish.”

Berge holds a master’s degree in Business Administration and began his healthcare career in 1974 as a physician’s assistant. Berge joined the Children’s Hospital in 1987 as the Director of Contract Management. In his 20-year tenure he also served as Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Managed Care and as Vice President, Managed Care, Marketing and Regional Healthcare Network. As Vice President of Facility Development, Berge directed the design and construction of Children’s new hospital, outpatient pavilion, clinical and research laboratories, behavioral health pavilion, and office complex.
