National Jewish Health, Colorado Acute Long Term Hospital Announce Clinical Affiliation

DENVER —

Building on a shared desire to bring the highest level of critical and acute care to patients with respiratory diseases and other complex medical illnesses, Colorado Acute Long Term Hospital and National Jewish Health (NJH) have developed a clinical affiliation that brings National Jewish Health expertise in respiratory and critical care to patients at Colorado Acute.

"Colorado Acute is an outstanding facility known for the care it provides to patients with complex illness and injury," said Colorado Acute Long Term Hospital CEO Ken Noteboom. "We look to expand on our existing strengths in wound care and rehabilitation as we broaden our offerings to respiratory patients."

On January 1, National Jewish Health physicians began providing leadership to the medical staff at Colorado Acute. Working collaboratively with the medical staff and clinicians of Colorado Acute, National Jewish Health also began implementing its highly regarded clinical protocols for pulmonary care. Colorado Acute plans to increase the number of pulmonary procedures and diagnostic services performed in the facility. The hospital has recently completed several renovations and is making additional capital investments in pulmonary equipment.

"We are pleased to bring our respiratory and critical care expertise to the patients at Colorado Acute," said Steve Frankel, MD, Chief of Critical Care and Hospital Medicine for National Jewish Health.

Lyn-Kew, MD, will serve as general medical director for Colorado Acute.  Dr. Lyn-Kew is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine.  He holds memberships with several clinical societies including the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
